Schneider, Steven H. (22 FEB 1950 - 13 MAR 2018)

Steven H. Schneider, 68, Weston died Tuesday, March 13, 2018. He was born February 22, 1950 in Northfield, Illinois, son of the late Ervin and Dorothy (Happ) Schneider.

On February 20, 1981 he married Patti Decker at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wausau. She survives. In his earlier years Steven was a welder at the former Drott/Case in Schofield. He later went on to Greenheck Fan Corporation where he eventually retired.

Steven had many outside interests in life which included fishing, small game and deer hunting, golfing and skeet shooting. He was a member of the Wausau Skeet and Trap Club and the Marathon Trap Club. Steven was a nationally ranked skeet shooter and was inducted into the Wisconsin Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame. He was also a proud life member of the NRA.

Most of all Steven found the best time outside was spent with his only daughter, Andrea. He enjoyed spending countless hours helping her around her house and especially in the woods.

Survivors include his wife, Patti Schneider, Weston, his daughter, Andrea (Dr. A.J. Hayes) Schneider, Rib Mountain, his siblings, Walter (Denise) Schneider, Eau Claire, Carol Schneider (Paul Hartkopf), Merrill, Richard (Janet) Schneider, Marathon, Jean Schneider, Milwaukee, David Schneider, Edgar, Kenneth (Michele) Schneider, Wausau, Phyllis (Mark) Burclaff, Wausau, Ruth (Greg) Seubert, Wausau, and Martha (Ron) Nowicki, Athens, one brother-in-law, Gary (Shelly MacMillan) Decker, Ann Arbor, MI and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Fred and Ellen Decker.

A Celebration of Steven’s life will be held at a later date. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
