Anna F. Draus, 96, of Pearl River, La., died in Slidell, La. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 due to natural causes. Anna was born in South Dakota on June 4, 1921 to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sicowitz. She married John S. Draus in Weyerhaeuser on Aug. 24, 1946.

Anna was a great wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family very much. She was a very compassionate animal lover and left behind her cat, Sassy. She loved to cook in her earlier days, especially fried chicken and baked goods. She loved going to the senior center in later years. She really looked forward to going three times a week to be with her friends and playing bingo.

She worked at Jeromes Turkey Factory in Barron and Peavey Paper Mill in Ladysmith for many years until retirement. When living in Bruce, she belonged to Ss. Peter & Paul in Weyerhaeuser. She belonged to the Parrish Council of Catholic Women for many years. Anna will be dearly missed, and we will hold her in our hearts and memories.

Anna is survived by her sons, Dennie (Armida) Draus of San Marcos, Calif. and Tom (Robin) Draus of Pearl River; her daughters Eileen (Phil Croxton) Whittenberger of Phoenix, Ariz. and Carolyn Crotteau of St.Anthony, Minn.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and her brother Charles Sicowitz of Milwaukee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents and one grandchild.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, March 18 at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Bruce with Fr. Inna Pothireddy officiating.

Burial was in Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church Cemetery in Weyerhaeuser.
