Crothers, Wendell H. (29 May 1895 – 21 December 1974)

An officer and director of the First National Bank at Neillsville for many years, Wendell H. Crothers, 79, died Saturday afternoon, December 21, at his home on Rt. 1 Granton. Funeral services were held Monday from the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, with the Rev. Gene Carlson of the Loyal and York Center United Methodist churches officiating. Interment was in the Windfall Cemetery, Granton.

Mr. Crothers was born May 29, 1895, at Neillsville and lived on a farm in the Town of York during much of his lifetime. He was a veteran of World War I. His marriage to the former Mildred Kintzele took place August 22, 1919, in the Town of York. Mrs. Crothers preceded her husband in death on August 20, 1952.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Merle (Jane) Bartsch of rural Granton and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Leland Reich, David Anderson, Donald Bartsch, Warren Davis, Harold Schlinsog and Roland Jakobi.
