Bliss, Joette L. (28 June 1956 – 2 April 2018)

Joette L. Bliss, 61 of Waterville died Monday, April 2, 2018, at Pleasant Manor in Faribault.

Born in Milwaukee June 28, 1956, Joette was the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Jennings) Kirk. She graduated from Simley High School in 1974. Following her graduation, she married her best friend, Martin “Marty” Bliss Sr. Due to the fact Marty enlisted in the Air Force, they found themselves in Grand Forks, ND. After his discharge from the military, they moved to Vermillion, MN, for the next 15 years before moving to Waterville for the last 18. She was a reserved woman that loved helping others, music, drawing and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived, by her parents Joe and Alice Kirk; two children, Christian Bliss and her children. Jesse, Justine and Emmit; and Martin “Bud” (Susan) Bliss Jr. and their children Ivy and Gage; two brothers, Dan (Michele) Kirk and Sam (Sheri) Kirk; three brothers-in-law, Ron Bliss, Mike (Val) Bliss and Joe (Joni) Bliss; her parents-in-law, Pearley and Bev Bliss; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin “Marty” Bliss Sr., and her sister, Michelle “Shelly” Kirk.

Visitation was held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville Sunday, April 8, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Interment was held Monday, April 9, 2018, at 11:05 a.m. at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
