Junior Kiwanian Sophia Katcher Honored (April – 2018)

April Junior Kiwanian

Sophia Katcher

Neillsville High School senior Sophia Katcher has been selected as the April Junior Kiwanian by the Neillsville Kiwanis Club.

She is the daughter of Kari and Scott Katcher.

Katcher has shown a strong record of participation and achievement in academics, sports, extra-curricular activities and community involvement during her high school career.

She is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society, History Club, Spanish Club, STEM, BLAST and Fine Arts Club. She’s also served on Student Council and is a member of the concert and show choirs.

As a scholar-athlete, Katcher has completed all four years on the cross-country and track and field teams.

Community involvement has included volunteering at school blood drives, Neillsville Retirement Community and Neillsville Care and Rehab. She works part-time at Neillsville Subway.

Following graduation next month, she will continue her education at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she will pursue studies leading to a career in the medical field.

The Junior Kiwanian program spotlights the achievements of outstanding students such as Katcher and directly reflects Kiwanis International’s emphasis on service to the community’s youth.

The club members say they’re pleased to have her as its Junior Kiwanian and wish her the best in her future endeavors.
