Mech, Vicki Ann (5 OCT 1973)

Given in marriage by her father, Vern T. Mech, was Miss Vicki Ann Mech, in a 6:00 p.m. ceremony uniting her in marriage to Glenn Curtis Fields III, of Pittsburgh, Pa. Officiating at the ceremony was Rev. William A. Toohey, C..S.C. at Sacred Heart Church in the University of Notre Dame, on October 5, 1973. The groom is the son of Mrs. Glenn C. Fields, of Pittsburgh, Pa.

Purple, lavender, hot pink and turquois flowers decorated the altar of the church, as the bride was seen in a gown of English net, appliques with French Alencon lace, hand beaded in seed pearls. The lifted bodice was high necked with long fitted sleeves and slim A-line skirt, which flowed softly to a full chapel train. The bride wore a picture hat of matching lace accented at the back with a full bow of pure silk illusion. She carried a natural bouquet of orchids and baby's breath.

Matron of honor was Diane Derfler Kadish of Buffalo, New York, and the bridal attendants were Krisan Kay Hug, Loyal, Wisconsin, Candace Fields Scanlon, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Patricia June Cervelli, South Bend, Indiana.

The bridesmaids' gowns were long purple velvet, with long sleeves. The gowns featured velvet hoods lined in ivory satin and they carried a bouquet of hot pink roses, purple, lavender, and turquoise flowers.

Best man for Mr. Fields was J. Christian Ebert, Pittsburg, Pa. Ushers were Michael Vernon Mech, Minneapolis, Minn., Geoffrey Scot Fields, Pittsburgh, Pa., Charles A. Digrutollo Mars, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Robert J. Austen, Pittsburgh, Pa.

The Ramada Inn was the setting for a sit down dinner and dance, following the ceremony.

The bride is a graduate of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) High School. She received her B.A. degree from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana in Business and Economics in 1972; Masters of Science degree in College Student Personnel Administration from Indiana University, Bloomington, in August of 1973, and she is presently employed as coordinator of recruiting, Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana.

The groom received his high school diploma from Shaler High School in Pittsburg, and his B.S. degree in biology from Edinboro College, Edinboro, Pa., in 1968. He received his Masters of Science degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, in College of Student Personnel Administration in August of 1973.

Music was provided for their wedding by a Saint Mary's College, University of Notre Dame group.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Fields will make their home in South Bend, Indiana.
