Kralcik, Lorraine E. (Pfeffer) (7 DEC 1922 - 18 MAY 2018)

Lorraine E. Kralcik, 95, died Friday, May 18, 2018, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Mount View Care Center, Evergreen Place, Wausau.

Lorraine was born Dec. 7, 1922, in Wausau, daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Petri) Pfeffer. She attended Fenwood Public School, was a 1939 graduate of Edgar High School and a 1941 graduate of Marathon County Teachers College. She taught seven years at area rural schools. On Aug. 16, 1947, she married Edward Kralcik at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fenwood. He survives.

In 1952 the couple left Wausau, moved to the town of Wien and operated a dairy farm until retiring in 1988. Lorraine was a life member of St. Peter until the congregation disbanded in 2005. Afterwards, Lorraine and Edward became members of St. John ELCA in Edgar. Lorraine worked at Employers Mutual Insurance Company and for 27 years at Fenwood Farm Supply. She was an avid reader, flower gardener and crocheted lap robes and afghans for area nursing homes. Lorraine was a charter member of the S.T.F. Homemakers Club.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Edward Kralcik; children, Sharon (Ken) Hopp and Bruce Kralcik; grandson, Josh Kralcik; and great-granddaughters, Jordyn Kralcik and Haley Kralcik.

A funeral service was held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar. Rev. Gail Sowell presided. Visitation was from 5 p.m. until the time of service, all at the Edgar funeral home. Burial was in the Fenwood Cemetery on Wednesday.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Evergreen Place and Gardenside Crossing for their loving care given to Lorraine over the past three years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a donation to the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Association.
