Lingenfelter, David A. Sr. (22 NOV 1940 - 19 MAY 2018)

David A. Lingenfelter Sr., 67 of Withee, WI, passed away at Sacred Heart Hospital, in Eau Claire, WI, on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Thorp Funeral Home, in Thorp, WI. Rev. Tom Myhre will officiate and burial will follow in Sylvan Cemetery, rural Thorp. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Visitation will be held at Thorp Funeral Home on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm, and again on Saturday, from 9:30am until time of service.

David Allen Lingenfelter was born on May 13, 1951 in Bassett, NE, to William and Wanda (Vargason) Lingenfelter. He was raised and received his education in Bassett, and graduated from Rock County High School in 1969. While in high school, David was active in 4-H and FFA. After high school, David attended a technical school in Colorado for 2 years. He returned to Bassett, where he worked on a ranch.

David was united in marriage to Deborah Craven in 1972, and they later divorced. In 1974, he moved to Thorp, and bought a farm. David also did carpentry work and hauled milk for Bellinger Dairy. He sold the farm in 1980, moved to the Town of Reseburg, rural Withee, and began hauling livestock for Mattes Livestock in Thorp. He was united in marriage to Maxine M. Frese on August 15, 1987 in Neillsville, WI. Eventually he started his own livestock hauling business, Dave's Trucking, which he continued to operate until May 2018.

He had many interests, but especially enjoyed riding and showing horses, hunting, fishing, throwing darts, pitching horseshoes and playing dirty clubs. David was a former member of the Circle T Saddle Club.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Maxine, of Withee; 4 children: June (Joe) Delveaux of Brussels, WI, Jason (Christy) of Tyndall AFB Panama City, FL, Jamie Lingenfelter of Thompson, IA, David Jr. of Greenwood, WI; his mother: Wanda Lingenfelter of Bassett, NE; 4 step children: Ronald (Sharon) Pogodzinski of Fall Creek, WI, Lynn (Mike) Koch of Abbotsford, WI, Lisa (Adam) Davis of Stetsonville, WI, Holly (Jeremy) Nett of Thorp; 8 grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; 13 step great-grandchildren; 3 nephews; other relatives and many friends.

David was preceded in death by his father and one brother: Richard "Rick" Lingenfelter on February 11, 2015.
