Savage, Julia Antonette “Judy” (Szepieniec) Zuber (6 JUN 1923 - 2 JUN 2018)

Judy was born Julia Antonette Szepieniec at the home farm on 6 June 1923 in the town of Roosevelt near Lublin, Wisconsin. Her parents were Joseph and Anna (Surman) Szepieniec. Her siblings were Hank, Casey, Stan, George, Rena, and Joe.

Judy married Walter "Wally" Zuber in Chicago in 1944. They lived in Chicago and then moved to central Wisconsin to farm. They later started their business, All Metal Stamping, in 1954. Judy helped run the business and did the bookkeeping. In 1962 they moved to Marshfield. Their children were Dolly, Ken, Gary, Charlene, and Kim.

After her husband's passing, Judy remarried Bill Savage of Medford in 1971. They lived in California for a few years before returning to Wisconsin. Bill died in 1997.

Judy enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends; gardening, thrift shopping, crocheting and knitting, beating everyone at Scrabble, and gambling. She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. Towards the end of her life, Judy moved into the Waterford Assisted Living in Colby. Judy died surrounded by her family on June 2, 2018, just shy of her 95th birthday.

Judy is survived by three siblings: Rena Phillips, Stan Spence, and Joe Szepieniec; five children: Dolly (Jack) LaSee, Ken (Dawn) Zuber; Gary Zuber, Charlene (Will) Bliss; and Kim (Myrna) Zuber; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Colby on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 9:15 a.m. The funeral mass will begin at 11 a.m. Following a lunch, burial will be at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Marshfield, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Saint Mary's Catholic Church and School, Colby.
