Cox, Evelyn (20 JUL 1921 – 2 MAY 1974)

Mrs. Fred (Evelyn) Cox Jr., 52, of 309 S. Division Street, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 2, 1974, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at Trinity Lutheran church, Loyal, with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield. The Rev. William Humlie, pastor, officiated.

Mrs. Verland Dux and Mrs. Ervin Dux sang "Under His Wings" and "Lead Me Gently Home Father," with Mrs. Gladys Olson as organist.

Pallbearers were Ervin Dux, Russel Cook, Joe Hubing, Ted Schlinsog, James Wangen, and Hugo Stutte.

The Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The former Evelyn Bires was born in New Lisbon, Wisconsi, July 20, 1921. She received her education in Eugene, Oregon schools.

She was married on December 12, 1961, to Fred Cox Jr., who survives her.

She was a member of the Garden Club and the A.L.C.W. of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Larry Bush, Gold Beach, Oregon; three step-sons, Fred, Monte and Douglas, at home, her father, Herman Bires, Eugene, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Gertrude) Taylor, Eugene, Oregon, Mrs. Robert (Delores) Mee, Eugene, Oregon; and two brothers, Harold Bires, Eugene, Oregon, and Donald Bires, Klamath Falls, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by one daughter and her mother.
