Zschernitz, Carl (11 SEP 1879 – 10 FEB 1963)

Neillsville (Special) – Carl Zschernitz, 83, formerly of Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), died Sunday morning at the Sunset Nursing Home in Fairchild. He had been in ill health for some time.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Bergemann Funeral Home with Rev. Bernard T. Kelly officiating. Burial will be in the Neillsville Cemetery.

A Rosary service will be held Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. at the Bergemann Funeral Home.

Mr. Zschernitz was born September 11, 1879 in Hamburg, Germany. At the age of 14 the family came to the united States and settle in Chicago, Ill. They later moved to Clark Co., Wis.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Earl Rea, Sunny Meade, California, and Mrs. Lester Volz, Black River Falls; six sons, Louis and Robert, Neillsville; Earl, Eau Claire, Melvin, Marshfield; LaVerne, Stanley, and Glenn, Eau Claire; three step-children, Mrs. Max Lukas, Neillsville; Frank Swendell, Black River Falls, and Charles Wendell, North Judson, Indiana; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Wildish, Merrillan.
