Hardy, Anna M. (4 APR 1890 – 30 MAR 1972)

Complications of old age were attributed to the death of Mrs. Vilber Hardy, which occurred at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley, on March 30, 1972.

Funeral services were conducted from the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, April 3, 1972, with Rev. Robert Sullivan officiating. Burial was made at the Reseburg Sylvan Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons, Duane Hardy, Kenneth and Stephan Hardy, Thomas Hard, and Stephen and Thomas Bowers.

Mrs. Hardy, nee Anna Marie Pingel, was born April 4, 1890 in Sheboygan and came to the Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) community at the age of six years. On April 7, 1915 she was united in marriage to Gilbert Hardy, who survives her, in a ceremony performed at Withee. After their marriage they lived in Tomahawk and Richland Center until 1927, when they returned to the Withee area.

She is survived by her husband Gilbert; three sons, Keith Hardy, Ruth, Nevada; Henry Hardy, Cottage Grove, Minnesota; and Martin, Mountain Iron, Minnesota; a daughter, Mrs. Eleanor DeMoss, Withee; a sister, Martha Pingel, rural Withee, and fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
