Kaldunski, Daniel J. (13 MAY 1937 - 18 JUL 2018)

Daniel J. Kaldunski, 81, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born May 13, 1937, in Gaylord, Minn., the son of the late Elmer Sr. and Sophia (Stencil) Kaldunski. On Feb. 11, 1961, he married Donna Ringle at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. She survives.

Daniel served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Germany. He worked as a carpenter and at Menzner Lumber and Supply Company as an over the road semi-truck driver. He enjoyed bird watching, Sam’s Pizza, western movies, especially ones starring John Wayne and watching all types of sports. He also enjoyed deer hunting and carpentry.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Kaldunski, Rib Falls; children, Robert (Carol) Kaldunski, Edgar, Korey (Barb) Kaldunski, Athens and Douglas (Ellen) Kaldunski, Athens; grandchildren, Brian (Liz) Kaldunski, Tarrah (Anthony) Bennish, Briah (Christopher) Perry, Kenya Kaldunski and Kole Kaldunski; great-grandchildren, Anna and Emalee Kaldunski, Grant and Alayna Bennish; and a sister, Marcella Hargraves, Wausau.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rachel; grandson, Andrew Kaldunski; sisters, Rosella Adams and Marjorie Diers; and a brother, Elmer Kaldunski Jr.

The funeral Mass was celebrated at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier presided. Private burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau, at a later date. Visitation was Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service, all at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon.
