Raven, Robert (1908? – 25 APR 1971)

Robert Raven, 62, of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), died Sunday night at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley.

He was born near Bloomer, graduated from Bloomer High School and attended Wisconsin State University, Whitewater. In 1942 Mr. Raven married Mary Andersen of River Falls and worked for Bloomer Farm Products Company and Thorp Finance Corporation before retiring three years ago due to ill health.

Mr. Raven was a member of the Thorp Masonic Lodge, White Shrine of Eau Claire, Order of Eastern Star in Bloomer, the Eau Claire Consistory, and the Thorp Methodist Church.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Congregational Church in Bloomer, with Reverend David Fuller of the Thorp Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Bloomer City Cemetery.

Masonic services were at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer.

Mr. Raven is survived by his wife; two sons, Wayne, Chippewa Falls, and Keith, Thorp; his mother, Mrs. Fannie Raven, Bloomer; a brother, Wesley, Chippewa Falls; one grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Don Bassett, Victor, New York.

Those who attended Masonic rites from Thorp on Tuesday evening included, Robert Zager, Robert (?)..edamer, Chester Johnson, Kenneth Lindquist, Edward Woodworth, John Sarafin, William Nourse, and Russel Mead.
