Howard, Neva (23 March 1922 – 20 August 2018)

Neva Howard, age 96, long-time resident of Unity, died Monday, August 20, 2018 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

Neva Mildred Boyer was born on March 23, 1922 in the Town of Weston, Clark Co., the daughter of George and Mildred (Flick) Boyer. She was united in marriage to Ted Howard on March 10, 1945. They resided in Unity, where they raised their daughter, Colleen.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity and she enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and bird watching. Her greatest joy in life, however, was watching over her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Colleen (Al) Breu of Marshfield, three granddaughters, Denise Karius of New Berlin, Michelle (fiancée, Ed Wisnewski) Marden of Medford, and Stephanie (Jason) Bauer of Colby, four great-grandchildren, Ashley Schallock, Brian (Ashley) Bauer, Brandon Wachholz and Brad Bauer, two great-great-grandchildren, Carly and Blake Bauer, a sister, Jean Bedell of McMinnville, OR, two brothers, Marvin Boyer of Neillsville, and Chuck (Bernice) Boyer of Neillsville, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Howard, a sister, Adeline (Joe) Senecal, four brothers, Arvid “Bob” Boyer, Wallace Boyer, Earl Boyer, James Boyer and an infant brother, Luther Boyer.

Funeral services for Neva will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity. Pastor Amy Heinz will officiate. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday at the church.
