Dubiak, Helen (Hnatko) (26 JUN 1925 - 14 AUG 2018)

Helen Dubiak, 93, formerly of Lublin passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Miller Alternative Care in Thorp. She was born on June 26, 1925 in Lublin to the late Charles and Theodosia Hnatko. Helen grew up in Lublin, attending Forest Lake School.

As a young woman, she worked at Sunbeam Corporation in Chicago, Illinois. She married Frank Dubiak on September 20, 1947, in Lublin. They moved to the Dubiak family farm by Lublin in 1948, retiring in 1978. She was a faithful member of Holy Assumption Orthodox Church, where she served as the Ladies Aid President for many years. Helen enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, cooking and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandson.

She is survived by her children, Tom (Paula) Dubiak of Lublin, Sharon (Don) Gibbons of Fort Collins, Colorado and Linda (Dave) Bockin of Mondovi, seven grandchildren, Christine (Kevin) Wright, Dan (Trish) Dubiak, Bryan Dubiak, Nikolai (Toni) Gibbons, Donovan Gibbons, Janelle Gibbons, Mariah Bockin, great grandson, Abraham Dubiak, step grandchildren Brad (Kim) Bockin, Stephanie Petersen and Lindsey Thowless, sisters Julia Borgemoen and Nettie Dubiak, and sister-in-laws, Olga Berg and Mary Wasylko.

She is preceded in death by her husband Frank (2011), her parents, her sister, Ella Pasternak, and twin sister, Ann Schiszik.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Holy Assumption Orthodox Church in Lublin with Father Hermann Klarr officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:30 PM until 7:30 PM on Friday at the Gilman Funeral Home and on Saturday morning one hour prior to services at the church.
