Literski, Virginia “Ginny” L. (Myszka) (13 AUG 1927 - 12 AUG 2018)

Virginia “Ginny” L. Literski, age 90, of Wausau, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at Wausau Manor, with her loving children by her side.

Virginia was born in the Town of Rietbrock on Aug. 13, 1927, to the late Phillip and Lucy (Kreft) Myszka. She married Leo Literski at St. Anthony’s in Athens on June 12, 1951. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1986.

Virginia was the wife of a farmer and a homemaker. She would spend countless hours helping in the barn before coming in and caring for her family, who were always her priority. Early in life, Virginia worked at a hospital in Chicago and was a nanny. After her husband passed she was employed at IGA in Rib Mountain, Tanglewood Lanes and did cleaning for Wanserski Dental Office.

Virginia was a member of the Rosary Society and Ladies Foresters. She enjoyed baking, gardening, going to church picnics, traveling and playing bingo and watching the Green Bay Packers. But most important to her were her family, friends and being a caregiver to others. She was known as the “Candy Lady” at Wausau Manor, always sharing her chocolate treats. “Ginny” would knit caps for the women’s shelter, crochet prayer shawls and was loved by everyone at the Manor. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A funeral mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Parish, R444 County Rd. U, Poniatowski. Father Tom Huff will preside. Visitation will take place from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, with a rosary to take place at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will take place again from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, all to take place at the church. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
