Zais, Paulette M. (SEP 1971)

Paulette M. Zais, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Zais, Stanley, became the bride of Robert F. Bishop (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.), in a two p.m. double ring ceremony performed by Reverend Donald Berg at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley. William Nolechek and Justin Rosemeyer sang, “Prayer To St. Francis”, “Joy Is Like the Rain:, “God is Love”, Dedication to the Blessed Virgin Mary,” accompanied by Sister Dorene on the organ.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white bonded crepe gown, simply cut, with a simply designed train in the back. The dress was made by Mrs. Ron Zais, sister-in-law of the bride. Around her waist a pearl crocheted chain created by the grandmother of the groom, Mrs. W.F. Nolechek. Her veil was made of lined bonded crepe and had a cap-like hooded effect. It fell below her shoulders and she carried a bouquet made up of six white gardenias.

Mrs. William Zais, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor, and Margaret Zais, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. Junior bridesmaid was Laura Zais, sister of the bride. They wore yellow voile peasant dresses imprinted with white and purple daisies. They each carried balls of yellow and lavender pompoms and around their necks they wore strips of silk with a broach pinned to the lavender ribbons.

William Bishop was his brother’s best man, and another brother, John F. Bishop, was groomsman. Ushers were William Zais and David Bishop, brothers of the couple.

A buffet style supper was held at the Meadowview Country Club in Owen, with the hall decorated in white, lavender and yellow streamers.

The mother of the bride wore a lavender crepe dress with matching accessories, accented with a corsage of white gardenias. The groom’s mother wore a plum crepe dress with matching accessoires and had on a corsage of lavender carnations.

After a camping and golfing trip throughout the southern part of Wisconsin, they will make their home at 224 1/2 Broadway, Stanley.

The groom attended Thorp High School and is a Senior at Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire, and employed part time at Meadowview Country Club, Owen. The bride attended Stanley-Boyd High School and Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire, and is employed as a bookkeeper at Royal Oil Company.
