Badzinski, Walter M. (9 SEP 1881 – 14 OCT 1971)

Walter M. Badzinski passed away at the Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley, Wisconsin, after a three week illness, on October 14, 1971, at the age of ninety years one month and five days.

He was born September 9, 1881 in Izabella, Poland. He came to the United States at the age of 21, arriving at Ivanhoe, Minnesota, where he lived two years, then moved to Roseau, Minnesota, where he met and married Myrtle Kubera on October 29, 1906. They moved to Belington, Colorado, living their five years, after which they came to Thorp (Clark Co.), Wisconsin in 1911. They farmed in the town of Reseburg for 30 years, then moving to the City of Thorp, where they made their home since.

They were blessed with twelve children.

He leaves to mourn, his wife, Myrtle; seven sons, Louis, John, Harry, Alex of Thorp, George of Bayfield, Wisconsin, Joe, Colby, Wisconsin, Albert of Enid, Oklahoma; five daughters, Mrs. Michael (Josephine), Strzok of Gilman, Mrs. Stanley (Gertie) Staszuk of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Mrs. Walter (Polly) Szczech of Greenwood, Wisconsin, Mrs. David (Betty) Kraemer of Marshfield, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Edmund (Valley) Krych of Minneapolis; 55 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church October 16, 1971, with Father John officiating, assisted by Father Jim Strzok. Interment was made in the parish cemetery (Old St. Hedwig’s).

Pallbearers were grandsons, Danny Szczech, Tom Krych, Billy Badzinski, John Staszuk, Laddie Strzok, and Randy Kraemer. Also assisting at Mass were Ronnie Kraemer and Gary Badzinski as servers.
