Stevens, Mary Ellen (9 AUG 1969)

Mr. and Mrs. David Hermann are making their home at 2120 Riverside Drive, Beloit, on their return from a wedding trip to Yellowstone National Park and Montana.


The marriage of Miss Mary Ellen Stevens and David Herrmann, both of Beloit, took place August 9, 1969 in a 7:30 p.m. candlelight ceremony in the First Presbyterian Church in Effingham, Illinois.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Stevens of Effingham and Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Herrmann of Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.).

Officiating at the ceremony was the Rev. Alvin Sigafus. Mrs. Emmett Phillips was the soloist and Mrs. Burl Loyal, the organist.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a floor length candlelight gown of Alencon lace with Alpaca peau. Her three tiered illusion veil was secured to a Dior bow of candlelight peau and lace. She carried a cascade arrangement of white and pink roses and stephanotis.

Miss Mary Rackhaus of Beecher, Illinois, and Harold Strohbehn of Marshfield were the honor couple. Mrs. Harold Strohbehn and Charles Stevens of Effingham completed the wedding party.

Willard McClure of Charleston, Illinois, and John Kruger of Carlyle, Illinois, performed the ushering duties.

For the bridal attendants, empire styled gowns of shell pink crepe were chosen.. With them they wore heapidces styled like those of the bride. They carried nosegays of light pink asters with streamers of avocado satin.

Following the ceremony, the new Mr. and Mrs. Herrmann greeted guests at a reception in the fellowship hall of the church.

The bride was graduated from Eastern Illinois University and did her Master's work at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where she was affiliated with Kappa Omicron Phi and Kappa Delta Pi Honorary Societies.

Her husband, a 1959 graduate of Abbotsford High School, received his degree from Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire.

Both are teaching at Beloit.
