Sossong, James Michael (24 February 1963 – 28 November 2018)

James M. Sossong, age 55, of Neillsville, passed away at the House of the Dove, in Marshfield, on Wednesday, November 28, 2018.

James Michael Sossong was born on February 24, 1963 in Milwaukee, the son of Edward N. and Audrey J. (Pimpl) Sossong. He was raised and received his education in Germantown, graduating from Washington High School in 1980. After completing his education, Jim worked for the D.C. Color & Supply Company in Milwaukee for several years. He then went to work for his father-in-law at Jim's Auto Repair in Norwalk. Jim then worked as the Director of Public Works for the Village of Norwalk. Jim later went to work for Toro, in Tomah, where he worked for 21 years as a welder and tooling technician until retiring due to poor health. He was united in marriage to Mary A. Grambsch on July 19, 2002 in Hatfield.

He had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, ice fishing, working on cars, yardwork, and riding his Harley.

Jim was a member of the North American Hunting Club and had served as a volunteer fireman for the Norwalk Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Neillsville; one son: James E. (Elizabeth) of Saukville; 4 step-children: Christopher (Cassi) Klimpke of Marshfield, Stephanie (Louie) Stieglitz of Greenwood, Elizabeth Klimpke of Neillsville, Nicholas (Ashley) Klimpke of Neillsville; 12 grandchildren; one brother: Jeffrey (Shelly) Sossong of Menomonee Falls; 2 sisters: Renee (Dean) Vitale of Rockford, IL, Sherrie (Shannon) Jones of Roscoe, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward, in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Loyal United Methodist Church. Rev. Kathy Jury will officiate, and burial will follow in the Loyal City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Wopat, Gerard Leis, Michael Leis, Steve Burton, Edward Mahoney and Chuck Urban. Visitation will be held at Loyal United Methodist Church on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and again at the church, on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, Jim's family asks that memorials be directed to The House of the Dove, in Marshfield.
