Brecht, Mary (28 MAY 1893 – 21 SEP 1974)

Mrs. Mary Brecht, 408 N. Division Street, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 1:15 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 1974 at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 24 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with Rev. Chester Osowski officiating. Burial was made in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery.

The Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

A PCCW Rosary was held at 3 p.m. Monday, and a Prayer Service was held at 8:30 Monday.

The former Mary Klinkner was born May 28, 1893 in Cashton, Wisconsin. She received her education in Monroe County school, and was married in Pine Hollow, Monroe County on August 13, 1912 to Frank Brecht, who preceded her in death on October 15, 1952.

They farmed in Monroe County until 1923, when they moved to Clark County until 1939, and then they moved to Marathon County. They retired in 1949 and moved to Loyal.

Mrs. Brecht was a member of the Altar Society.

Mrs. Brecht is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Adolph (Margaret) Gorke, Dorchester; three sons, Peter and Emery, Loyal, and Jerome, DePere; 23 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Emery Klinkner, La Crosse, and one sister, Mrs. Jennie McKee, Cashton, Wisconsin.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, six brothers, and four sisters.
