Zimmer, Glenn (28 SEP 1938 – 27 OCT 1974)

Private funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 1974 for Glenn Zimmer, 36, who was killed in a truck-tractor accident Sunday evening. The Rev. Chester J. Osowski, pastor of St. Anthony's Catholic Church at Loyal, officiated, and burial took place in St. Mary's Cemetery at Greenwood. The funeral services was held at the Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal.

A prayer services were held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.

Glenn Zimmer was born September 28, 1938, and received his education in the Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) area schools, graduating in 1956 from the Greenwood High School.

He worked for Service Bakery in Marshfield, and then worked at the Rasmussen factory in Greenwood as a milk hauler and cheesemaker. He had been self-employed as a milk hauler for Greenwood Milk Products for the past 16 years.

He was a well-known stock car racer, racing for the past three years, and was a member of the Badger Dirt Racing Association. He was also a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

He was married on November 23, 1957 at Greenwood to the former Janice Colby.

Survivors, in addition to his wife; a son, Mark, at home; two daughters, Mary and Ann Marie, both at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Zimmer, route 3, Greenwood; a brother, John Zimmer, route 3, Greenwood, and a sister, Mrs. Leland (Ruth) Albert, Thorp.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael, on April 27, 1974.
