Meyer, Herman (14 JUN 1927 - 19 DEC 2018)

Herman Meyer, age 91 of Medford, went to be with his Lord, at his residence on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in the Town of Hammel under the care of Hope Hospice.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00 am at Saint Peter Lutheran Church in Dorchester. Reverend Shawn Andersen will officiate. Interment will take place in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome for the visitation from 9:00 am until the time of services at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester is entrusted with arrangements.

Herman was born on June 14, 1927 in Dorchester, Wisconsin the son of Herman and Frieda (Tessmer) Meyer. He received his education at Dorchester schools. Herman was united in marriage to Jennie Visser on May 5, 1956 at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Racine, Wisconsin. He was employed at Tree Tool and Die in Racine as a machinist for 20 years. He then was employed as a carpenter for Boscha Builders in Racine before doing carpentry work on his own. Herman and Jennie moved to the Medford area in 2000. Herman enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with wood.

Herman is survived by his loving wife; Jennie and his children; Jane (Bob) Kappel of Kingston, GA, Joann (Terry) Stenklyft of Sheboygan and Jerry (Laura) Meyer of Wausau, grandchildren; Daniel (Tina) Howe, Mark (Tiffany) Howe, Kelli Stenklyft, Joshua Stenklyft, Kristy Meyer and Katie Meyer, great-grandchildren; Liam, Samuel, Abigail, Ella, Van, Louie and expecting, Rosie in March.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Mildred Smiley, Delores Kanneberg and Audrey Krueger.
