Mathison, Roger A. (2 SEP 1944 - 18 DEC 2018)

Roger A. Mathison, 74 of Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Sacred Heart Hospital - Eau Claire.

He was born on September 2, 1944 in Stanley Wisconsin to Esther (Christianson) and the late Gerhard “Gib” Mathison. Roger grew up in the Stanley area and graduated from Stanley Boyd High and continued his education at UW-River Falls. He later married Sandra (Patraz) on
December 24, 1980. She was the love of his life.

Roger worked in the Insurance industry for over 50 years. He owned/operated the Mathison Agency for many years and most recently worked with the Big Rivers Agency. Roger loved to fish and hunt and had his Pilot’s license for a time.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy of Chippewa Falls, two children Kurt (Tammy) Mathison of Port Richey, Florida, and Kimberly (Sean) Barkley of Lake Mary, Florida, as well as his two step
children, Scott (Janelle) Jones of Holcombe, Tessa (Travis) Gurney of Neillsville, plus 12 Grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, three siblings, Earl (Linda) Mathison of Thorp, Les (Dolly) Mathison of Cornell and Diane (Chris Buscher) Overgard of Colorado and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Roger is preceded in death by his father “Gib” Mathison and his brother Ed Mathison.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-7 PM on Friday December 21, 2018 at the Plombon Funeral Home-Stanley.
