Fredrick Susan Kaye (Nordahl) (20 AUG 1954 - 20 JAN 2019)

Susan Kaye Fredrick passed away at home on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019 in Ladysmith, after her 17-month battle with cancer.

Born on Aug. 20, 1954, the daughter of Marvin and Ruby Nordahl, she attended Amery High School. She moved to Ladysmith in 1974 to start Grandpa’s Pizza with Marvin and Ruby, and took over the restaurant from her parents in 1986.

Susan was a devoted mother and grandmother, not only to her children, but all who entered her home or restaurant. She was never short on love or kindness and took true joy in welcoming any hurting soul under her protective, capable wing.

She was a successful business owner, Jesus lover and loyal friend. Her faith was the epicenter of her life, and she never missed an opportunity to share her love of God and His word with anyone who would listen. She leaves an unrivaled legacy of faith even in death.

She is survived by Jeff, her partner of 10 years; her three children, Dawson, Tammy and Felicia; her grandchildren, Jared, Aspen, Kavin, Andrew, Thomas, Oliver, Skylah and Will; her sister, Katherine Niessen; her brother, Lorne Nordahl and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Rusk County Lighthouse Shelter in Susan’s name. A celebration of life will be held at Grandpa’s Pizza on Monday, Jan. 28, from 1-4 p.m. in Ladysmith.
