Roder, Conrad D. Jr. (28 NOV 1931 - 16 JAN 2019)

Conrad D. Roder, Jr., 87, of Rib Lake, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 surrounded by family under the care of hope hospice.

Conrad was born on November 28, 1931 to Conrad Sr. and Mary (Mann) Roder in Rib Lake. He attended Highland grade school and graduated from Rib Lake High School. He married Bernice Gilge on September 13, 1952 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Rib Lake; she survives.

Conrad was owner and operator of a dairy farm for 50 years. He was also a carpenter, logger, and an excellent trapper.

In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, playing basketball with his family, gardening, hunting, and playing cards and checkers.

Conrad is survived by Bernice, his wife of 66 years; children, David Roder of Rib Lake, Diane (Jay) Nelson of Osceola, Dawn (Rick) Jensen of Medford, Debbi (Tom Marschke) Roder of Medford, and Kelly (Kevin) Holzl of Rib Lake; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Conrad is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Merle Roder and Catherine (Melvin) Rindt.

A Memorial service for Conrad will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, with Pastor James Langebartels officiating. Visitation will take place at the church on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 4:00 Pm until 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Conrad’s name may be given to the family for use at a later designation.
