 Deborah “Deb” Lee Michlig (2 Jan 1950 – 6 Aug 2000)

Deborah “Deb” Lee Michlig, 50, Unity, died on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000.

Funeral services for Deb will be held on Thursday, Aug. 10, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby, at 10:30 a.m.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Father John Malik, and burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Colby.

Visitation will be at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford on Wednesday, August 9, from 4 to 8:30 p.m.  There will be a prayer service at the funeral home at 7 p.m.

Deborah Lee Pribnow was born on January 2, 1950, in Marshfield, the daughter of John “Jack” and Joanne (Tennis) Pribnow.  She was a 1968 graduate of Colby High, and attended the Eau Claire Beauty Culture School.  Deborah and Jerold Michlig were united in marriage on May, 23,1970, at St.  Louis Parish in Dorchester.

Deb was employed with Welcome Dairy in Colby as a lab tech, and later, she and Jerry operated the Fieldstone Restaurant in Abbotsford.  She had worked for the Village of Unity as clerk for the past 7 years until the time of her death.

Deb and Jerry have lived in Unity since 1975 and for these 25 years have been active in community, serving the Unity Village Library, the Unity Commercial Club and the ball park.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women.  Deb enjoyed jig-saw puzzles, crocheting, painting crafts, especially Christmas villages, and cooking for family and friends.

Deb will be dearly missed by her husband of 30 years Jerold Michlig, Unity; three sons, David Michlig, Unity, Daniel Michlig, Eau Claire, and Brian Michlig, Unity; one grandson, Kyle David Michlig; her dad, Leon Jost, Unity and her father Jack (Grace) Pribnow, Cornucopia; four sisters:   Denise (Dennis) Engevold, Spencer, Judi (Russell) Bedroske, Dorchester, Jamie (Robert) Michlig, Colby, and Amy Pribnow, Marshfield; two brothers:  John (Donna) Pribnow , Stratford and Tadd Pribnow, Marshfield.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Jost.

Pallbearers were Mike Engevold, Mark Engevold, Justin Michlig, Mike Pribow, Lucas Bedroske and Pat Bedroske.
