Dolores “Blondie” Bunkelman (8 May 1929 - 15 Sep 2002)

Dolores “Blondie” Bunkelman 73, Abbostford, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.  Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 18, 2002, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Milan. 

Burial will be in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Milan.  Father Len Stashek will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Ben Adams, Eric J. Hackel, Tim Smazal, Amber Bunkelman, Jennifer Bunkelman, Steven Staab, and Travis Bunkelman.  Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford.  A parish prayer service will begin at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dolores was born May 8, 1929, in Dorchester to Bernard “Ben” and Marie (Kaage) Gall.  She attended Dorchester schools.  Dolores and Chester “Nibbs” Bunkelman were married Oct. 6, 1948, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester.  She grew up in Dorchester, and lived in Milan for many years.  She moved to the town Holton, Marathon County, in 1988. She devoted her life to her family.  She enjoyed polkas and the Green Bay Packers.  She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

 Dolores is survived by her children, five daughters Linda (John) Adams of Athens, Judy (Kenneth) Smazal of Abbostford, Cheryl (Michael) Hackel of Abbotsford, Renee (Jeff) Staab of Abbotsford, and Denise (Dan) Hendrix of Fond du Lac;  11 sons, Dennis “Butch” Bunkelman of Abbotsford, Carey (Debbie) Bunkelman of Ackerman, Miss., Timothy (Patrice) Bunkelman of Abbotsford, Gregory (Christina) Bunkelman of Perkinstown, Mark Bunkelman and his special friend Anni Vesely of Milan, Joseph (Lois) Bunkelman of Milan, Randall Bunkelman of Abbotsford, Paul (Dawn) Bunkelman of Edgar, Chris (Kelly) Bunkelman of Dorchester, Cory (Julie) Bunkelman of Wausau, and Jody Bunkelman and his special friend Connie Wirtz of Chaska, Minn.; 32 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren one step-grandchild and three step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia (Arnold) Schaefer of Colby; and one brother, Gary Gall of Athens.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, and her parents Bernard and Marie Gall.
