Amy Marie Schmidt (2 Apr 1975 - 20 Aug 2003)

Amy Marie Schmidt, 28, Dorchester, died Wednesday, Aug. 20 at University Hospital in Madison. Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 23 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester, with Rev. James Schaefer officiating. Burial was in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tony, Aaron and Joshua Schmidt; Ron Geiger, Keith Jecevicus, and Wayne Hoeg.

Amy Schmidt was born April 2, 1975, in Marshfield to William and Jeri (Schmidt) Schmidt. She was a 1993 graduate of Athens High School.

She attended the Wausau School of Cosmetology and worked for her aunts with Lad & Lassies of Colby. She was a certified nursing assistant and home health aide and worked in nursing homes in Marshfield and Abbotsford. She helped her parents as a cook and waitress at the Dairyland Café in Dorchester and was a former dental assistant with First City Dental in Abbotsford.

She was a coach in the Milan Junior Softball League. She enjoyed campfires, reading, music, and cooking.

In addition to her parents, survivors include a daughter, Alleah of Athens; two sisters, April of Colby, and Angela of Abbotsford; a brother, Anthony of Athens; and grandparents, Cecilia of Abbotsford, and Lawrence (Martha) of Colby.
