Simons, Nils I. (2 OCT 1922 – 23 DEC 1975)

The Rev. Roger Tellock of St. Paul's American Lutheran Church, Curtiss, officiated at the final rites held Saturday afternoon, December 27, 1975 at the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, for Nils Ivan Simons, 53, of Schiller Park, Illinois. He passed away at 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 1975 at a hospital in Oak Park, Illinois.

Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery, rural Withee.

Serving as pallbearers were George Eloranta, Carl Sillampa, Stanley Foley, Arthur Finnila, Charles Pribbernow, and Martin Carlson.

Mr. Simons was born October 2, 1922 in Sweden and came to the United Statees in 1953. He worked as a carpenter and had also been employed as a mail handler for the post office in River Grove, Illinois. He was a member of the Vasa Viking Swedish Lodge in Chicago.

Mr. Simons married the former Ruth Johnson of Owen on February 12, 1955 at Chicago. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Steven, at home; a brother, Sven Simons, Sweden, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Olof Simons, Sweden.
