Johnson, Carl (20 July 1890-7 June 1972)

Carl H. Johnson, age 81, resident of 135 8th Ave., Stanley, died at
Victory Memorial Hospital Wednesday afternoon.

He was born in Dwight, Illinois, on July 20, 1890, son of John O. and
Dorthea Johnson. He moved with his parents to Minnesota and came to
Stanley in 1899 and settled in the Town of Worden. On April 28, 1926 he
was united in marriage to Vera Carmien in Stanley. After their marriage
they farmed until January of 1954 when they moved to Stanley and have
lived there since.

He is survived by his wife, Vera, two sons, Fred of Mosinee, Wisconsin,
and Carl E. Merrill,one daughter, Mrs. Cleve (Jane) Shilts of Boyd, five
grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Elsie Bye of Stanley, and two brothers,
Ole and Hans Johnson of Stanley. He was preceded in death by three
brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church
with the Rev. Norman Sifferath officiating. Burial will be made in
Oakland Cemetery, Stanley.
