Fuchs, Donald “Don” B. (3 FEB 1933 - 19 FEB 2019)

Donald “Don” B. Fuchs, age 86, of Medford, passed away at The Homeplace of Dorchester on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

Don was born in Rib Lake on Feb. 3, 1933, to Henry and Lena (Brost) Fuchs. Don owned and operated milk trucks for 30 years, starting out with canned trucks. After ending his milk hauling career, he became a school and tour bus driver for Krug’s Bus Company, where he especially loved the children.

In his spare time, Don enjoyed woodworking, reading books, visiting with farmers while picking up the milk, cooking for his children, and walking his dogs.

Don’s family included his wife, Enid; children, Gary (Tami), Daniel (Tracy), Jayne (Bruce), Mary (Lynn), Kenneth, preceded in death in 1963, Gene, preceded in death in 2017 (Judy), Gayle, Russ, Annette (Justin) and Lisa (Randy); his previous wife, Theresa; grandchildren, Stanley (Jennifer), Tori (Dave), Kyle (Kristie), Beth (Jarred), Shawn, Megan (Jesse), Melissa (Mike), Michelle (Nick), Justin (Brook), Sarah (Robert), Tasha (Tyler), Lucas (Sam), Tina (Josh), Andrew, David, MaKayla (Alex), Ray Shawn, Spenser and Sawyer; 26 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Phylis.

Don was preceded in death by his siblings, Sister Christine, Florence (Jim), Francis, Alvin (Marge), Joseph (Audrey) and John; and his brother-in-law, Dick Scheibe.

A funeral mass was held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. Father Phil Juza presided. Burial followed at Medford Evergreen II. Visitation was held Saturday morning at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Grandchildren served as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Don’s name can be made to Clark County Humane Society because of his love of cats and dogs.
