Sheldon, Betti Mae (Bliffert) (1930? - 17 FEB 2019)

Betti Mae Sheldon, age 89, of Damascus, Ore., passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019.

Betti was born in Milwaukee to Alyce (Hanson) and Lester Bliffert. She was preceded in death by her former husband, William Dwight Sheldon; her daughter, Robin Rachelle Sheldon and her son, William Putnam Sheldon.

She is survived by her youngest son, Carey Micheal Sheldon; her grandsons, Derek Daniel Sheldon and Blake William (Lee Ann) Sheldon and her great-grandson, Coltlee Rouge Sheldon.
Betti grew up in Ladysmith with her mom and older sister, Aleigra. She moved to Portland, Ore. in the early 1950s and her mother joined her soon after. She had three children, Billy, Robin and Carey.

She completed her degree in mechanical engineering and worked in the Hi-Tech industry, Tektronix Company, as a circuit board designer. Her success working in the technology lead her to open a convenience store in the later part of her life. Opening a store has always been her dream and to work for herself. This journey blessed her with greater pride, joy and spending more time with the kids and her gardening.

Betti also was a wonderful caregiver of her mother for several years until her death in 1997.
She was an avid gardener and truly had a green thumb and a love for flowers. She also had a great interest in her genealogy and did much research into her family history organizing pictures and special dates. Knitting and crocheting were also a favorite pastime.

Her sister, Aleigra Revak preceded her in death just one year earlier in 2018 at the age of 93.
In our hearts, Betti was a wonderful mother and grandmother with an angel and kindred spirit. Her love will forever be a footprint and blessing to all of us.

There will be a private family ceremony remembering and celebrating Betti’s beautiful life journey.

On behalf of the family, we thank you for your thoughts, support, and prayers during this time.
