Langteau, Leo J. (10 JUL 1888 – 24 FEB 1970)

Leo J. Langteau, 81, died Tuesday, February 24, 1970 at the Family Heritage Nursing Home, Schofield, where he had been a resident the past month. Funeral services were held Friday morning at 10 o'clock at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Stetsonville, with the Rev. James Harte officiating. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.

Six grandsons served as pallbearers. They were Allen, Michael and John Langteau, Ronald Baumgartner, and Dennis and Melvin Konkal.

He was born in the town of Little Black (Taylor Co., Wis.) July 10, 1888, and had lived there most of his life. He was married to Catherine Habermeyer on October 28, 1914, at Stetsonville, and continued to operate a farm in the town of Little Black until the death of his wife March 22, 1958, when he made his home with two of his daughters. He had served as school clerk in the Little Black School for a number of years.

Surviving his are five sons, Roy of Colby, Gerald, Milwaukee, Arthur, Abbotsford, Kenneth, Seymour, and Leonard, Chippewa Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Marie) Baumgartner, Owen, Mrs. Clarence (Lorraine) Konkal, Hatley, and Mrs. Lawrence (Irene) Schmid, Dorchester; 39 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Senn and Mrs. Josephine Wiebe of Seattle, Washington.

Four brothers, two step-brothers, and three sisters preceded him in death.
