Barth, Robert E. (18 FEB 1935 – 29 MAR 2019)

Robert E. Barth, 84, of Stanley, died Friday, March 29, 2019, at Oakbrook Nursing and Rehab Center, Thorp. He was born on February 18, 1935, to the late Conrad and Gertrude (Maier) Barth. Bob grew up south of Thorp on Bachelors Avenue and attended Maple Ridge Grade School and Greenwood High School. Bob married Esther Leech on May 11,1963, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Thorp.

In his younger years; Bob worked for his Uncle Cesar and John in the saw mill and the thrashing crew. He also spent a couple falls out west harvesting crops. Bob worked a few years in Milwaukee at Briggs and Stratton and then the Owen Dairy. Bob then worked for Stanley Bottling works for 23 years then owned and operated Bob's Sanitation, Stanley. He retired from Waste Management.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman all his life. He was on the board of directors at the Goggle Eye Trap Club where he> was "Top Gun" 5 years straight. Bob also was a member of the Otter Lake Bass fishing group.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Esther of Stanley; his godchildren: Dawn Blawat, Nancy Kriesel and Trevor Fredrickson; his brothers: Conrad Barth of Thorp, Fred (Nancy) Barth of Greenwood and Ed "Chapi" (Kathy) Barth of Thorp; his sisters: lone (Ralph) Much of Shiocton, Donna Hein of Sun Prairie and Trudy (Roger) Holfelder of Mount Horeb.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Leonard (Angie) Barth; and a sister in law, Lorrie Barth.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley with Rev. Kenneth Schmidt officiating. Burial followed in the Donald Cemetery. Visitation was on Monday from 5-7 p.ir and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
