Fairchild, WI---Erven M. Staves, 72, R. 1, Fairchild, died Friday,
September 22, in an Eau Claire hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Staves was born January 28, 1894, in the Town of Cleveland,
Jackson County (to George and Ida Staves) , and farmed all his life.

He is survived by his widow Vivian (Waters); one son, Roger of
Chippewa Falls; one sister, Mrs. Matie Smith of Humbird; three brothers,
William and Donald, both of Humbird, and Harry of Eau Claire; and 23
grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday in St. John's United Church of Christ in
Humbird, Rev. Ralph Walker officiating, and burial will be in East Lawn
Cemetery at Alma Center.

Friends may call at the Jensen Funeral home in Hixton.
