Schaefer, Maxine (AUG 1970)

St. Thomas Catholic Church in Milan (Marathon Co., Wis.) was the site for the wedding of Maxine Schaefer of route 1, Abbotsford, and Bryce Luchterhand of route 1, Unity.

The Rev. Dennis Lynch officiated at the rite. Alex Ellenbecker, uncle of the bride, was organist, and Debra Luchterhand was the vocal soloist. Guitarist was Jeanne Burger.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Werner J. Schaefer of route 1, Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Luchterhand of route 1, Unity.

Karen Schaefer, Marshfield, was her sister's maid of honor, and Debra Luchterhand, sister of the bridegroom, was the bridesmaid.

The groom was attended by Dan Washington of Gillette, New Jersey, and Joseph Burger, route 3, Athens, a cousin of the bride. Steve Pederson, Loyal, and John Schaefer, Abbotsford, were the ushers.

The bride's gown of lace and organza over taffeta with chapel train featured a molded empire bodice accented with sequins and ruffles.

The A-line skirt was adorned with a beaded lace appliqued redingote. Her chapel veil was attached to a rhinestone tiara. She carried a bouquet of assorted pompons.

The bridal attendants wore gowns of mint green nylon sheer over taffeta. They were designed with high waistlines and demi-bell skirts. Floral headpieces held their jet veils, and each carried a bouquet of yellow daisies.

Following the ceremony a reception and dinner were held at the Trianon Ballroom in Edgar.

Mr. and Mrs. Luchterhand are 1966 graduates of Colby High School. She graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Marshfield in 1969, and has been employed at the hospital.

The bridegroom is a 1970 graduate of Northland College in Ashland. He will be employed as a guidance counselor by the Bureau of Indian affairs on the Navajo Indian Reservation in Arizona.

After a wedding trip to upper Michigan, the couple will live in Dinnehotso, Arizona.
