A trip to the southern United States followed the marriage of Miss Margaret J. Sillampa, 602 N. Willow Avenue, Marshfield, and Allan B. Chilar, on Saturday, October 12, 1974 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen.

The Rev. Donald Walczak performed the nuptial rite for the daughter of Mr. and Ms. Carl Sillampa, route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Chilar, route 1, Mosinee. Larry Toboyek accompanied the singing of Miss Carleen Sillampa and Miss Elaine Sillampa. Mrs. William Mahoney played the organ for the 11:30 a.m. rite.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, was seen in a satin A-line style gown, featuring a full chapel sweep train. Her matching Camelot headpiece secured the chapel length veil and blusher. She carried a cascade bouquet of white orchids, roses and mums.

Miss Ruth Buchholz, Marshfield, was maid of honor. Miss Betty Sillampa and Miss Kristi Sillampa, both of Owen, were bridesmaids. They donned royal blue satin and white lace gowns and matching royal blue Camelot headpieces with shoulder length veils. Each carried a cascade bouquet of blue, yellow and white roses and carnations.

Dennis Chilar, Mosinee, performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Ken Chilar, Mosinee, and Joey Baumann, Marathon. Charles Sillampa and Mike Walters were ushers.

A reception, dinner and dance were held at the Trianon Ballroom, Athens Corners, following the ceremony.

The new Mrs. Chilar is a May 22, 1973 graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, Marshfield. She had been employed as a registered nurse. Her husband, a 1970 graduate of Farmers Short Course, University of Wisconsin, Madison, is a farmer.

The newlyweds will make their home on route 1, Mosinee.

Guests from out of town were Uncle Harry Sillampa and Mr. and Mrs. Lindmore Heber and daughter, Kim, of Detroit, Michigan; Mrs. Ione Lynch, Chicago, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Denning, Chicago, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Poppe, Mark, Jim and Kay, Baldwin; Miss Carleen Sillampa, Springfield, Missouri; Miss Elaine Sillampa, Marshfield; and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Poppe and son Billy, Abbotsford.
