Beyer, Robert R. (1 April 1925 – 20 December 2019) With Flag

Robert R. Beyer, age 94, of Shawano, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, December 20, 2019.

Robert was born in Neillsville, on April 1, 1925, to the late Richard and Hattie (Meihak) Beyer. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. In 1947, Robert was united in marriage to Florence Asplin, she preceded him in death in 1996. They lived in the Neillsville area until they moved to Shawano in 1974. In 1997, Robert was united in marriage to Pauline Eisberner, she preceded him in death in 2014. Robert was devoted to his family and will be dearly missed by all.

Robert is survived by his children, Sharon “Sherry” (Bill) Behnke of Cecil, Robert (Gloria) Beyer of Shawano, and Richard (Laurie) Beyer of Wittenberg; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; his brother, Harold Beyer of Neillsville. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Florence; his second wife, Pauline; his daughter, Shirley; one brother and one sister.

A funeral service for Robert will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, December 23, 2019 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. Robert Eberhart and Rev. Luther Raine officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
