Daenicke, Eunice I. (1 AUG 1930 – 17 JAN 2020)

Eunice I. Daenicke, age 89, of Tomahawk, passed away on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at Country Terrace Assisted Living under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

Eunice was born in Waupaca, on Aug. 1, 1930, to the late Paul and Elise (Gerik) Larsen. She was married to Donald Daenicke, on Aug. 21, 1948; he passed away in 2018.

Eunice grew up in Marshfield, where she attended school. Eunice met the love of her life, Don, at the roller-skating rink and they were married shortly after. They moved to Tomahawk in 1959 where they raised their boys. Eunice was a faithful member of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, serving as the former president of the Altar Guild. She was a familiar face on the school bus, having been a driver for over 20 years. Eunice and her family made many memories camping and snowmobiling in her younger years. She loved playing bunco with her friends, knitting, gardening, and flowers. Above all, she cherished her family and friends.

Survivors include her two sons: Scott (Judy Wilber) Daenicke of Irma, and Jim Daenicke of Tomahawk; one brother, Marvin Larsen of Brookfield; and her best friend and sister-in-law, Elaine “Tootie” Johnson.

Eunice is further survived by her grandson, Neil Crass.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Elise; two brothers: Ronald and Darwin Larsen; her daughter-in-law, Marcia Daenicke; and her brother-in-law, Ray Johnson.

A funeral service for Eunice Daenicke was held on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Generations Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Gass presided. The family received friends for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Entombment will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory assisted the family.
