Rousey, Dorothea (1891 – 26 August 1975)

Mrs. Dorothea Rousey, 84, formerly of Alma Center, died Tuesday, August 26, in Lakeside Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas.

Services were held Thursday, August 28 at Overland Park, Kansas, with the Rev. Jerry Porter, of Hillcrest Christian Church officiating. Burial was in Osborne City Cemetery at Osborne, Kansas.

She was born March 29, 1891 in Basehor, Kansas. She lived in Kansas until 1937 when she and her late husband, William G. Rousey moved to Alma Center where he was a rural mail carrier. He preceded her in death in August 1948.

Mrs. Rousey lived in Merrillan from 1955 until three years ago when she moved back to Kansas. She was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include one son, Richard of alma Center, two daughters, Mrs. Willa Meiu, Ottumwa, Iowa, and Mrs. Mateel Haas of Overland Park, Kansas, nine grandchildren and a great-grandson.
