Hanne, Mildred (25 MAR 1927 – 17 FEB 2020)

Mildred Hanne, age 92, of Abbotsford, passed away on February 17, 2020, at the Marshfield Medical Center.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, at the Curtiss Alliance Church. Pastor Carl Swarr presided. Family and friends were welcome from 1 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church. Interment followed at the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Mildred was born on March 25, 1927, the daughter of Abraham and Gertrude (Kreidman) Estrumse in Milwaukee. She started her education in Milwaukee, and finished at Colby High School. Mildred was united in marriage to Eldred Hanne on June 9, 1943, in Colby. Together they farmed in rural Colby and rural Abbotsford, where they raised their daughter, Elaine.

Mildred enjoyed arts and crafts, making anything from necklaces to crochet blankets. First, she sold the fruits of her labor and now, she gives as gifts. Her faith was very important to her as she was a born again Christian.

Mildred is survived by her daughter: Elaine Akins of Florida; two grandchildren: Michele (Ken) Abrehamsen and John (Melissa) Akins; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldred (1983); a son-in-law, Stan Akins; three brothers: Elmer, Clarence and Donald, and a sister, Virginia.
