Scheel, Faith Hope (Marriage – 20 September 1975)

Mr. and Mrs. Norval Boie, who exchanged marriage vows in a September 20 candlelight ceremony at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanley, before the Rev. Ronald Gerl, have returned from a wedding trip to southern Wisconsin and are making their home on Rt. 3 Stanley.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph R. Scheel, Jr., Rt. 1 Neillsville, the bride is the former Miss Faith Hope Scheel. Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Norval Boie, Rt. 3 Stanley.

For her wedding, the bride chose gown of white Dacron polyester fashioned with long, sheer sleeves and lace-ruffles on the skirt. Her lace-edged veil was held by a lace headpiece. White roses, blue carnations, baby’s breath and ivy in cascade arrangement formed her bouquet. She was presented in marriage by her father.

Mrs. Llewellyn Loucks, Rt. 1, Colby, sister of the bride, was her matron of honor. Bridesmaids, also sisters, were the Misses Joy and Betty Scheel, Rt. 1 Neillsville. Their high-waisted gowns of light blue crepe with short, puffed sleeves were brightened by blue and green floral ribbon accents. They carried bouquets of white roses and fern with white ribbon.

The groom chose as attendants Dale Johnson, Stanley, for bestman and Clarence Sloviak, Stanley, and Tom Boie, Thorp, as groomsmen.

Brothers of the bride and groom, Arthur Scheel of Neillsville and Dale Boie of Stanley, served as ushers.

Mrs. Dan Nafzger was the organist and Miss Cheryl Janicki, the soloist.

A reception was held in the church basement.

The bride was honored at two pre-nuptial showers, one given by Mrs. Loucks and the other by Mrs. Norval Boie.

A 1974 graduate of Colby High School, the new Mrs. Boie is employed by a Thorp life insurance corporation. Her husband graduated from the Stanley-Boyd High School in 1967 and is engaged in farming.
