Bunkelman, Dennis "Butch" (28 JAN 1955 – 2 MAR 2020)

Dennis (Butch) Bunkelman, age 65, formerly of Milan, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020, at Colonial Center in Colby under the tender care of hospice.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at Johnson Town Hall on Corinth Road, Athens. Family and friends are welcome from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Interment will be in Milan Cemetery at a later date.

Butch was born on Jan. 28, 1955, the son of Chester (Nibbs) and Dolores (Blondie Gall) Bunkelman. He was the third child of sixteen children. He attended the Milan Grade school and attended Abbotsford High School. He never married.

He worked most of his life as a logger for his father and later for his brother, Tim. He enjoyed helping his friends and family with farm chores and roofing, when he could. He loved his nieces and nephews and would often give them candy whenever he saw them.

Butch is survived by sisters: Linda Adams of Athens, Judy (Kenneth) Smazal of Colby, Cheryl (Michael) Hackel of Abbotsford, Renee (Jeff) Staab of Dorchester, and Denise (Dan) Hendrix of Fond du lac; brothers: Carey (Debbie) Bunkelman of Somerset, Ky., Tim (Patricia) Bunkelman of Abbotsford, Greg (Christina) Bunkelman of Perkinstown, Mark (Annie) Bunkelman of Milan, Joseph (Lois) Bunkelman of Milan, Randall, Paul (Dawn) Bunkelman of Edgar, Chris (Kelly) Bunkelman of Republic, Mo., Cory (Julie) Bunkelman of Wausau and Jody (Connie) Bunkelman of Chanhassen, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Dolores Bunkelman; and brother-in-law, John Adams.

Mid-Wisconsin Crematorium is assisting the family.
