Brecht, Velma (5 March 1917-21 February 1991)

LOYAL--Services for Mrs. Velma Brecht, 73, formerly of Loyal, who died Thursday at the Marshfield Living Center, will be at noon Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal.

The Rev. Roman Kaiser will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Brecht, Darwin Brasier, Chris Goralski, David LaBarge, Jeff Zarnke and Mark Paun.

Visitation will be at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, today with a Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service and prayer service tonight.

She was born March 5, 1917, in Loyal, to the late Matt and Sadie (Kurtzheim) Vogel. She was a Loyal High School graduate.

She was married to Peter Brecht August 19, 1939, in Milwaukee. He died in 1981.

She lived most of her life in Loyal. She was a resident of Clark County Health Care Center for eight years and the Marshfield Living Center for the past year. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

She is survived by one son, Peter of Loyal; three daughters, Mrs. Darwin (Janet) Brasier and Mrs. Marilyn Redig , both of Loyal, and Mrs. Betty Zarnke of Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Shirley) Lockhardt of Owen and Mrs. Warren (Joannie) Drew of Texas; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by one sister, Mabel.
