Bartsch, Herman (27 March 1891 – 10 January 1976)

A longtime resident of the Town of Lynn, Herman Bartsch, 84, of Rt. 2 Granton, died 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 10, in Neillsville. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, with the Rev. Everett Schleef officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton.

Mr. Bartsch was born March 27, 1891, in Germany and came to the United States with his parents at about the age of six months. His first marriage was to the former Anna Guenther, who died November 23, 1955. On December 28, 1967 he was married to Mrs. Caroline Schier at Bakerville.

Mr. Bartsch lived most of his life in the Town of Lynn. He was a farmer and also served as caretaker of the Lynn Cemetery for many years.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Caroline, include five step-daughters, Mrs. Delores Boller of South Byron, Mrs. Lawrence (Luella) Langrehr of Marshfield, Mrs. Ferdinand (Ruth) Moore of Longview, Wa., Mrs. Albert (Betty) Masephol, of Pittsville and Mrs. Richard (Idelle) Lautenbach of Hillpoint; one stepson, LaVern Schier of Marshfield and 24 step-grandchildren and 12 great-step-grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Carl of Marshfield, Fred of Arpin and Oscar of Chili.
