Komis, Albert (20 October 1877-20 December 1965)

ABBOTSFORD--Albert W. Komis, 88, Abbotsford, died Monday at the Havenet Nursing Home in Owen where he had resided for the past 1 1/2 years.

Services will be conducted Thursday at the Polnaszek Funeral Home in Abbotsford with Robert Ruprich officiating. Burial will be made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Mr. Komis was born in Germany, October 20, 1877, and came with his parents to the United States and settled on a farm in Minnesota. As a young man he came to Loyal, where his marriage to Ella Scheel took place June 23, 1902.

He was a cheesemaker, and he and his wife also formed near Loyal until 1937, when they came to Abbotsford. Mrs. Komis died in 1964.

Survivors include a son, Alfred, Abbotsford; a daughter, Mrs. John (Mae) Wesneski, Owen; three sisters, Mrs. Amelia Rusch, Iroquois, South Dakota; Mrs. Tillie Strege, Hillman, Minnesota; and Mrs. Alvina Strege, Luck, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two children, a sister and three brothers.
