Lemke, Martha Luella (14 December 1899-14 August 1997)

LOYAL-- Martha Luella Lemke, 97, of W4266 State Highway 29, Owne, formerly of Loyal, died August 14, 1997, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen. Funeral services will be Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. The Rev. Dennis Olson will officiate. Burial will be in Loyal Lutheran Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be John Olson, Donald Bugar, Walter Seeger, Allen Wehrman, Gerald Kobiske and Wilfred Wehrman. Visitation will be at the Rinka Funeral Home.

She was born December 14, 1899, in the town of Lynn, Clark County, to David and Johanna (Mahn) Konshok. She was married to Henry Lemke on April 5, 1920, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Lemkes celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1970.

Born and raised in the Clark County area, Martha was educated in Clark County country schools. After her marriage, she farmed with her husband in the town of Sherman until moving to Loyal in 1976. She resided there until entering the nursing home in August 1987. She remained in the nursing home until the time of her death. She enjoyed her family and crocheting.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her son, Harold (Vera) Lemke of Marshfield; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was predeceased by her husband on March 23, 1980; a son, Norman Lemke; four brothers, George, Edwin, Harvey, Herman,and Warren Konshok; and four sisters, Almyra Riedel, Viola Schlamb, Laura Schlamb and Rose Nace.
