Harp, Myrtle Mae (16 FEB 1896 – 28 SEP 1972)

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Hannibal Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Colonel Harp, 76-year-old town of Cleveland (Taylor Co., Wis.) resident, who died Thursday at the Senior Manor Nursing Home, Cornell. Mrs. Harp, who entered the nursing home the previous day, had been hospitalized since September 5, 1972 at St. Joseph Hospital, Chippewa Falls.

Rev. Winifred Lomis officiated and burial took place in the Hannibal Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were: Lawrence Larmon, Tom Herman, Alva Clark, Rich Gorsegner, “Red” Henk, and Duane Linhart.

The former Myrtle Mae Madison was born February 16, 1896, at Durand, Wisconsin, and moved to the Hannibal area in 1909 with her parents. Her marriage to Colonel W. Harp, who preceded her in death March 27, 1963, took place February 16, 1914 at St. Paul, Minnesota.

After their marriage the couple farmed in the town of Cleveland.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Eva Opferkuch of Medford, and one brother, Nick of Stetsonville.

One brother also preceded her in death.
